Edgar Moser - Lead Pastor

Born in rural Giles County, Virginia, youngest son of Tyree and Irene Moser, Edgar is proud of his country upbringing and the many fond memories he has of growing up in a large and Godly family.  After graduating as a "Spartan" from Giles High School and going onto New River Community College, Radford College, and Emory & Henry College, Edgar moved to Roanoke to begin his career in the field of education.  While teaching at his first job, he met his future wife Ginny, who he has been happily married to now for over twenty-seven years.

With Ginny's invaluable love and support, Edgar has served as a teacher, coach, and principal, in Christian as well as Public schools, for over thirty years, all while leading Church Youth Groups, teaching "College & Career" Sunday School Classes, and preaching at Summer Camps throughout the Eastern US in his "free time."   Along with the Bible, music from Steven Curtis Chapman, and stories from Max Luxcado have matured Edgar's Christian walk over the years as well as encouraged him to help others do likewise.

Steve Pegram - Music Minister

Picture
Like Pastor Edgar Steve was born and raised in Giles County, Virginia where he and Edgar were “high school best friends.”  Though their friendship would later develop into a God honoring one, it began as Steve admits thanks to him being “lost and Edgar being far from God.”  After years of inner struggle and emptiness Steve finally saw his need for God, accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savour and ever since has been anxious to share Him with others.

One way Steve loves to share is through music.  Playing guitar since the age of 4 Steve is thrilled to combine his years of  experience together with his natural talent in leading all who attend Life Pointe in "music with a message."  Weekday's Steve shares in a different way - After years of work in retail Steve felt the Lord leading him to start his own lawncare business and though this was a complete turn around for him he confesses he is “happier than ever” finding more time for his music as well as more opportunities to share Jesus to those he works for!

Joseph Lovitt - Youth Intern

Though Joseph was born in Memphis and resides with his family in Michigan he calls nearby Lynchburg, Virginia his home at least during the school year.

Currently attending Liberty University Joseph is majoring in Youth Ministry and anticipates graduating in 2012.  In the meantime however Joseph is anxious to gain what formal as well as practical training at Life Pointe he can to use wherever God may place him.  In addition to his studies and work Joseph is also active with the Liberty Flames Hockey team with whom he serves as manger for both home and away games.

Joseph enjoys the latest in Contemporary Christian music like DC Talk and Jars of Clay as well as classics like the Beatles and Queen not to mention a good laugh from the Office!

James & Ashley Moser - Ministry Assistants

James and Ashley Moser, both natives of the Roanoke Valley and "high school sweethearts," were married on their specially selected date of '07-07-07.'   Since an early age the couple has shared a love for Jesus Christ, as well as a variety of histories and humanities in which they both took degrees in shortly before and after their marriage.

Whether it be working at Children's Bible Camps, taking part in College Campus Ministries, or attending Conferences to learn from fellow believers, James and Ashley are eager to help Life Pointe spread the Gospel.

One book the couple believes every adult and child should read, besides the Bible, is C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
